Our work / Case study
3.5 million customer logins, one platform
Consolidating more than 3.5 million customer identities from three legacy environments into a single, modern authentication platform.
The problem
More than 3.5 million customer identities were spread across three legacy environments. Each had its own way of signing customers in, and together they made authentication and customer journeys steadily more complex to run and to change.
Our approach
We led delivery of a major identity and access management (IAM) programme to bring every one of those customers onto a single, unified authentication platform.
It was a programme with a lot of moving parts:
- legacy systems and modern digital platforms running side by side
- customer journeys that had to keep working throughout
- external suppliers and multiple technical teams
- the migration itself, testing, and operational readiness for the teams who’d support the new platform
The result
- More than 3.5 million customer identities migrated.
- Three legacy environments consolidated into one.
- Less dependency on legacy authentication, and a scalable identity foundation for future digital services.
Work covered: identity and access management, digital transformation and legacy modernisation.
